Description

King, Olaf the Black was one of the last Norse Kings of Man and the North Isles. He had a son named Leod who inherited the islands of Lewis and Harris and part of Skye. Leod married the daughter of the Norse seneschal or steward of Skye which gave him rule over Dunvegan. When King Haakon of Norway was defeated in 1263, he was forced to give up his residual claims to the Western Isles, leaving Leod in possession of almost half of the Hebrides. The clan had two main branches: the Macleods of Lewis and the Macleods of Skye.

Highland Clan Flags are intended for indoor or outdoor use. The flags are made from 70 denier high tenacity nylon, chosen for durability and ability to meet our exacting color standards. A rigourous process ensures colours are locked in for long use, and all edges are double stitched for added strength.

Our clan flags are packaged in robust, clear plastic sleeves that both display and protect the contents – perfect for gifts!

Each package includes a fine printed scroll offering an outline of your Clan’s history.
